About the researcher

Biography

Paola Comparin obtained her Ph.D. from the Université de Poitiers (France) in September 2014, with a thesis titled «Mirror symmetry and special elliptic fibrations on K3 surfaces», in which she studied K3 surfaces, automorphisms and mirror symmetry for a class of K3 surfaces. In 2014 she moved to Chile, where she held postdoctoral positions first at Universidad de Concepción and then at Universidad de La Frontera. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Universidad de La Frontera and Director of the Ph.D. Program in Mathematical Sciences. Her research focuses on K3 surfaces and their automorphisms, toric varieties, mirror symmetry and related topics.
